Seit ich den 15-jährigen LUIS MIGUEL bei euch in BRAVO gesehen habe, bin ich total verliebt in den süßen Bengel....“, schrieb uns die 14-jährige Andrea aus Oldenburg. Der Brief ist nur ein Beispiel für die gewaltige Brief-Flut, die nach dem ersten Bericht über den kleinen Mexikaner unsere Redaktion überrollte.
Obwohl LM bisher nur einmal kurz im dt. Fernsehen zu sehen war, gewann der Star aus Mittelamerika sofort die Mädchenherzen im Sturm. Kein Wunder! Als BRAVO den sympathischen Lateinamerikaner in Hollywood zum Interview traf, mussten sich der Fotograf und BRAVO - Korrespondentin Dagmar Dunley erst einmal durch einen regelrechten Absperr-Riegel von Hunderten von Fans durchkämpfen, um an ihn ranzukommen. Doch wer glaubt L. wäre deshalb schon furchtbar eitel und arrogant geworden, täuscht sich gewaltig. „Ich weiß, dass ich schon ganz gut singen kann und dass meine Platten auch nicht schlecht sind. Aber um ein richtiger Star zu werden, muss ich wahrscheinlich noch sehr viel an mir arbeiten“, gesteht er. „ Ich will mich nicht schon auf ein hohes Ross setzen und sagen: Ich bin der Größte. Dazu haben mir meine Eltern viel zu sehr bei meiner Karriere geholfen“. Luis´ Mutter, eine geborene Italienerin aus dem kleinen Ort Massa Carrara in der Toskana, brachte ihm zum Beispiel die italienische Sprache bei. Sein Vater, ein reicher Komponist, begleitet ihn auf sämtlichen Tourneen, damit LUIS nicht übereilt verheizt wird. Fragt man Luis, wo er denn zur Zeit wohnt, antwortet er ganz munter: „ In einer Boing 747“, und meint damit, dass er ständig unterwegs ist. Deshalb kann er auch nicht regelmäßig in die Schule gehen und wird dauernd von seiner Privatlehrerin Anita Muiz begleitet. Die versucht dann zwischen den Auftritten oder im Hotel ihrem Schützling Englisch, Mathematik und Geographie einzupauken. Luis:“ Ihr könnt euch vorstellen, wie schwer das ist. Wenn die anderen ins Schwimmbad gehen oder vor dem Fernseher hocken, muss ich in irgendeinem Hotelzimmer Gleichungen mit zwei Unbekannten lösen.“ Trotz des Reichtums seiner Eltern ( sie besitzen noch ein tolles Landhaus bei Madrid ) will LUIS nämlich auch auf eigenen Beinen stehen und neben seiner Musik noch eine richtige Ausbildung machen....... Desde que ví a Luis Miguel en su revista Bravo, cuando él tenía 15 años, totalmente me enamoré de este "chavo mono", nos escribió Andrea, chica de catorce años de Oldenburg. Esta carta es sólo un ejemplo de la ola extrema de cartas que inundó la redacción después del primer reportaje sobre el pequeño Mexicano. Aunque Luis Miguel sólo se ha visto una vez en la televisión Alemana, la estrella de Latinoaméerica ganó rápidamente los corazones de las chicas. No es sorprendente! Cuando BRAVO encontró en Hollywood al simpático Latinoaméricano para una entrevista, el fotógrafo y la correspondal de BRAVO, Dagmar Dunley, tuvieron que luchar contra una barrera de cientos de fanáticos para llegar a Luis Miguel. Pero quienes piensen que Luis Miguel se ha vuelto arrogante y vanidoso, se equivocan. "Yo sé que puedo cantar bastante bien y que mis discos no son malos. Pero para ser estrella verdadera probablemente tendré que trabajar mucho mas conmigo mismo". Nos confiesa él. "No quiero subirme a un caballo alto y decir: 'yo soy el más grande.' Respecto a esto mis padres me han ayudado bastante en mi carrera." Por ejemplo, la madre de Luis, una Italiana nacida en el pequeño pueblo de Massa Carrara en la Toscana, le enseñó el idioma Italiano. Su padre un compositor en buena posición económica, siempre acompaña a Luis Miguel en sus giras, cuidando así que nadie se aproveche de él. Si se pregunta a Luis Miguel en donde radica por el momento, él responde en forma vivaz y fresca: "en un boeing 747", con esto quiere decir que está siempre viajando. Por esto mismo, no puede asistir regularmente a una escuela y es acompañado por su maestra privada, Anita Muiz. Ella trata de meter a cucharadas a Luis - el inglés, matemáticas y geografía entre medio de actuaciones o en el hotel. Luis dice: "Se imaginan que difícil es? cuando los demás van a la piscina o están frente al televisor, yo tengo que resolver ecuaciones."
