 Für ihn schwärmen VieleIm Westwood – „Marquis-Hotel“, einem In-Treffpunkt für Hollywoods Prominente, traf BRAVO Luis Miguel. Flankiert von Vater, Onkel, Presse-Agentin ( die auch für Prince arbeitet) und Plattenfirmen-Chef wird Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri – wie der Südamerikaner mit vollem Namen heißt – präsentiert. Der in Veracruz ( Mexico ) am 19. April 1970 geborene Luis gab am 23. Januar 1982 sein Show-Debut in Mexico in einer Variety-Show. Drei Jahre später kann er schon vier Hits vorweisen“ 1+2=2Enamorados ( 2 Verliebte), „ Directo al Corazon „ ( Direkt ins Herz) und Palabra de Honor ( Ehrenwort ). Alle Songs wurden mit Gold und Platin in Mexiko, Brasilien, Argentinien und Peru ausgezeichnet. Luis ließ sich die Einladung zum großen Songfestival in San Remo nicht entgehen. Der Song, der extra für ihn für diesen Auftritt geschrieben wurde, „Noi, Ragazzi di Oggi“ ( „Kinder von Heute“) brachte ihm leider nur den zweiten Platz. Doch den ersten Platz hat er bei den Tausenden von Girls errungen, die von dem graugrünäugigen Sänger mit der blonden Mähne hingerissen waren. Schon als kleiner Knirps mimte Luis im Wohnzimmer seines Elternhauses mit seinem Spielzeugmikrofon die Songs nach, die er im Radio hörte. Sein Vater, ein Songschreiber, förderte Luis´ Talente und ist heute noch sein künstlerischer Berater. „ 45 Minuten vor meinem Auftritt ziehe ich mich in meine Garderobe zurück, und konzentriere mich auf die Show: wie ich mich bewegen werde, was ich zu den Zuschauern sagen werde.“ Nach der Show meditiert Luis wieder für 45 Minuten, um sich zu entspannen. Luis spielt Schlagzeug und Piano – allerdings, wie er zugibt, nicht sehr gut. Am besten kennt er sich auf der Gitarre aus. Luis lebt mit seinen jüngeren Brüdern Alejandro und Sergio bei seinen Eltern in Veracruz. Mutter Marcela Gallego, eine Italienerin, lehrt ihren Sohn Italienisch, was für Luis bei den Aufnahmen zu seiner Platte „ Luis Miguel: Canta en Italiano“ sehr hilfreich war. Dagmar Dunlevy

En Westwood- "Marquis Hotel", uno de los puntos de encuentro de los famosos en Hollywood, encontró Bravo a Luis Miguel. acompanadoo por su padre, tío, la agente de prensa (que trabaja también para Prince) y el director de la companía de discos, fue Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri ( este es el nombre completo del Latinoamericano ) presentado a la prensa. Nacido en Varacruz (México) el 19 de abril de 1970. Luis hizo su debut musical el 23 de enero de 1982 en un programa de variedades. Tres anos después presentaba ya sus éxitos... Todas las canciones fueron premiadas con discos de oro y platino en México, Brasil, Argentina y Perú. Luis no se perdió la invitación para el Festival de la Canción en San Remo. La canción "noi, Ragazzi di Ogi" (ninos de hoy) que fue especialmente comnpuesta para él para dicha actuación, le llevo lamentablemente, sólo a conseguir el segundo puesto. Pero el primer premio ya lo había ganado para las miles de chicas que se dejaron entusiasmar de sus ojos de un verde grisáceo y de su rubia melena. Ya desde pequeno Luis cogía un micrófono de juguete, y en el salón en casa de sus padres se ponía a cantar las canciones que oía en la radio. Su padre un compositor musical, estimuló el talento de Luis y es hasta la fecha su asesor artístico. 45 minutos antes de mi entrada en escena, me retiro a mi camerino y me concentro en la actuación, cómo me moveré, qué le diré al público. Después del espectáculo, Luis Miguel medita otros 45 minutos, para relajarse. Toca la batería y el piano, realmente no muy bien, como él mismo reconoce. La guitarra es el instrumento que mejor toca. Luis vivía con sus hermanos menores Alejandro y Sergio en casa de sus padres. Su madre Marcela Basteri, de origen italiano, le ensenó a su hijo su idioma, lo que le fue de gran ayuda a la hora de grabar su disco, Luis Miguel canta en italiano.

Luis Miguel plays the battery and the piano, although not to perfection as he ackowledges. The guitar is the instrument he plays better. Luis Miguel lives with his younger brothers Alejandro and Sergio in his parents' home.
